Southern Odyssey: A Personalised Journey from Queenstown to Aoraki/Mount Cook and Christchurch
Day 1: Queenstown to Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park
Embark on an unforgettable private adventure from the vibrant hub of Queenstown, a haven for thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts alike. After a brief orientation tour of the town, we'll journey through the historic gold-mining village of Arrowtown, steeped in tales of the gold rush era. Our route then takes us over the scenic Lindis Pass, where the dramatic landscape of the Otago province unfolds before you.
We'll pass through the unique "Clay Cliffs," a striking example of New Zealand's badlands, before heading north to Omarama, renowned for its world-class gliding opportunities. Arriving in the Mackenzie Country, you'll be captivated by the stunning natural beauty that surrounds you. Our final destination for the day is Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, home to New Zealand's highest peak, Aoraki/Mount Cook, towering at 3,754 meters. Here, you can choose to explore the park's alpine wonders on guided walks, soak in the breathtaking vistas, or embark on a leisurely stroll to the Tasman Glacier, the longest glacier in a temperate zone.
Day 2: Leisure Day in Aoraki/Mount Cook or Lake Tekapo
Today is yours to unwind and discover the region's unique offerings. Choose between Aoraki/Mount Cook or the picturesque Lake Tekapo for your day's activities. At Aoraki/Mount Cook, you can embark on exhilarating glacier flights, scenic boat trips, or explore the alpine wonderland on foot. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, Lake Tekapo offers soothing hot pools and the opportunity to witness the wonders of the night sky at the world-famous observatory.
Day 3: Aoraki/Mount Cook to Christchurch
