Christchurch and wine.
What a wonderful day out. Sue took us to the highest point above the city for far reaching views surrounding the area. We drove on with great explanations of the cities history and viewpoints. We next visited two lovely small vineyards in the region. We had some delicious wines at both. At St. Georges we had lunch too, a cheeseboard with delicious bread and pickles. Felt very relaxed. Thank you to Sue for the excellent company, we felt we had known her for years.

Nice overview
We went to several wonderful wineries. Tia was a wonderful guide. She had a lot of
knowledge of Christchurch, itself, but also took us to some great places to taste wine. One
of our favorites was Terrace Edge. Nice wine tasting, good lunch, good tour guide
We enjoyed the entire day. The tour guide asked what we had already seen and done in Christchurch and then taylored the city tour based on what we hadn't seen. The vineyards and wine tasting were nice.
Lunch was great. The only downside was that the tour guide never asked if anyone had food allergies. When the meals arrived, they contained a food that 1 person was very allergic to. We had to send back his plate and make it clear that he couldn't eat anything that had come in contact with that food. Because the restaurant was busy, we had to wait quite a while for the new plate of food to arrive.Wine and city tour highlights
We only had one full day in Christchurch and this was a great way to see the highlights of the city and combine it with a really nice tour out to wine country. Our guide was very knowledgeable and could speak about personal experiences from the big earthquakes that made for a fascinating history lesson and gave great perspective on the current state of a city in transition. Our tours to the wineries was wonderful as we visited a few very different wineries which had great wines and wonderful scenery. We finished the day visiting a local chocolate shop. Fun day
