Central Otago is the southernmost wine region in the world, and its Pinot Noir is celebrated wherever it is poured. This half day stays in the Gibbston Valley, twenty-five minutes from Queenstown and known locally as the Valley of Vines, and visits three cellar doors chosen for contrast rather than for volume.

Morning or afternoon

The day runs in either direction, morning or afternoon, with the order reversed to suit. All tastings are for guests aged eighteen and over; younger guests are welcome on the tour.

About four and a half hours door to door, running either from 9:30 am or from 12:30 pm.

Which cellar doors do we visit?

Chard Farm, cut into the cliff above the Kawarau River, Kinross, where several small Central Otago producers pour side by side, and Mora, in a garden and cottage setting near Lake Hayes.

Is lunch included?

Yes. A shared platter of regional produce is laid out over lunch at Kinross, and the tasting can run across the meal if that suits you better.

Can guests under eighteen come along?

Younger guests are welcome on the tour. The tastings themselves are for guests aged eighteen and over.
