South Island Package Tours - The Accommodation...
For the accommodation on our tours, we choose the best in lodges, small hotels, home and farm-stays in accordance with the guests' style, preference and budget. We believe the hospitality of the hosts, clean rooms, a relaxed, cosy and friendly feel and good food are all important. Providers are carefully chosen and we feel that the accommodation adds to the tour experience and is more than "just a place to stay". We classify quality as Standard (3-4+*), Superior (4-5*), Luxury (5*+). Almost all accommodation providers in New Zealand provide laundry facilities where you can do your own washing (better hotels offer a laundry service).
Please note that Luxury (5*+) accommodation is not available in many locations on the South Island.
How do we travel?...
We use our own fleet of specialized and dedicated tour vehicles. All of our tour vehicles are extremely well appointed and comfortable with individual seating, air conditioning, PA/stereo systems, fridges and all necessary picnic requisites. Other onboard items include binoculars, reference books and maps. Canterbury Trail guests are also offered morning and afternoon teas and full service picnic lunches served with New Zealand wine or beer which (weather dependent) can be enjoyed at some of the most beautiful and magical places which NZ has to offer.
